About Melinda Bartling

I'm a native Kansas Citian and a longtime resident of Overland Park. Single since 1984, I have two grown children, McKenna, 25 who graduated from DePaul University in Chicago and is in restaurant management with Rock Bottom Brewery in the city. My son, Chad , 23 lives in south Overland Park and is Operating Manager at Carrabba's Italian Grill at 105th & Metcalf. Chad and Emily just had their first baby girl, Brooklyn Renee on August 11, 2006.

I attended The Barstow School (when it was all girls) and am the little sister of local 1950's - 1960's rock and roll legend, Roger Calkins of Roger Calkins & The Fabulous Silver Tones.  (Roger and the boys were inducted into The Kansas Music Hall of Fame in January 2007)!

I was previously in business with my mother at Louisburg Square Antique Gallery and Tea Room. Most of my spare time is spent dining out with friends and family. My hobbies include cooking, decorating, searching for unusual antiques, going to the gym, and music.

In 1987 I received my real estate license in Kansas and Missouri . During my career, I have marketed and sold hundreds of homes. I hold the professional designations of CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), e-PRO (makes me a pro with technology), GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), and WHS (Workforce Housing Specialist). These designations are the highest awarded by the National Association of Realtors and fewer than 1% of all Realtors have earned them. They require intense classroom instruction, lots of transactions and years of experience.

I am also an Accredited Staging Professional and was trained by the lady who created the concept of Staging back in 1972. Staging sells homes faster and for more money!

Real estate is a personal service business. Don't hire a company, hire a person. Hire a Realtor that you like, can connect with and would like to spend substantial time with. If you don't "click" with this person, it's going to be a long road to get to closing! You should also expect knowledge and skill from the Realtor you hire in the areas of financing, contracts, negotiating and marketing. My approach to getting your home SOLD reflects on my background in decorating, Home Staging and marketing. Accept nothing less than the very best for your real estate transaction. Moving is stressful, the Realtor you choose can ease the anxiety or create more!

I promise my clients results and communication along the way. If you're thinking of selling, I invite you to call me to see how we can work together to reach your real estate goals!

Thank you,

Melinda Bartling

P.S. Remember, the results you get depend on the Realtor you choose...choose carefully!
